What if you could go to school in a nurturing, yet academically challenging environment, where small class size, personalized attention and customized supports could help you more fully realize your potential?

Middle College High School (MCHS) offers Seattle Public School students a tuition-free, college education as part of a four-year high school program. We provide students with the supports they need to accelerate their learning and/or catch up on earning credits.

We are a diverse community with a mission to empower resilient and promising learners to reach their highest potential.

Middle College High School enrolls students throughout the school year as an Options High School with Continuous Enrollment. This means high school students enrolled in Seattle Public Schools can transfer to South Lake at any time during the school year.

We are currently accepting students in grades 10 through 12 to attend our John Marshall campus. Our Early College Program has a wait list at this time.

    Multiple Campuses

Middle College High School students have the opportunity to attend school at several campuses in the Seattle area. We operate a John Marshall campus in the Green Lake area of Seattle, as well as a Seattle University and University of Washington campuses.

Our students are also supported in Running Start and when qualifies, have the opportunity to attend any of the Seattle Colleges (Central, North, South or Seattle Vocational Institute) for free!

    The Early College Program

For the first time in its history, Middle College High School will enroll freshmen. In the fall of 2019 two new 9th grade cohorts – one at Seattle U and one at the University of Washington – will be enrolled in our inaugural Early College Program!
